Discovery Cove near orlando florida vacation resorts, is SeaWorld sister attraction that offers the ultimate dolphin interaction experience, including a full day’s treat of snorkelling and private beaching.

Water parks, hot-air balloon rides, an alligator farm, and a wide range of amusement parks keep up the momentum of non-stop fun. Resorts, most of them unique, large and innovative are destinations in themselves. For the more sophisticated, art/science oriented visitors there are art museums, the interactive Orlando Science Center, history museum, gardens and theatre to satisfy even the most demanding appetite. You can as well head to downtown Orlando for lively shopping, or African-American heritage museum , or just entertainment in the Church Street area. If you are after some recreational activities, the best place to find them would be Winter Park that is home to a multitude of parks and lakes. Nearby Eatonville is also worth visiting since it was one of the first communities in America to be incorporated by African-Americans. It is the spot where Zora Neale Hurston Festival of the Arts and Humanities takes place(named for the eminent Harlem Renaissance author who grew up there).

Kissimmee is another place where magic happens, although in a slightly less showy and agressive way than Orlando, given its hometown sentiment and cow-town origins. A time capsule itself, Kissimmee still sports cattle auctions and rodeos, and they are still a way of life in the historic downtown area. Various nature friendly activities are awaiting you here:horseback riding, a petting farm and a folksy historic park gauge the low-key temperament here, although themed family resorts like westgate vacation villas, water parks and other such hyper activity centers share the turf.

One step further from Orlando’s core attractions, you will find parks, springs, canoeing waterways and small towns that are a reminder of this area’s roots. Famous off-the-beaten-track destinations surrounding the metropolis include the antiquing, biking town of time-stilled Mount Dora, where its residents have deliberately kept out chain stores and over-development from its historic and hilly downtown lake front shopping district. Sanford, a St. Johns River town is a good place for indulging in romantic river ship excursions, manatee snorkeling tours and an opportunity to see endangered species from around the world at Central Florida Zoological Park. Cassadega is characteristic for its spiritualist new-age-like community. Pop in for a fortune-telling sense and feeling the town’s unusual vibes. A nice place to visit is a former cattle ranch has turned into an eco-attraction that embodying old Florida, located near St. Cloud.
